Data centres

Cooling is one of the fastest-growing industrial water demands globally — hyperscalers like Microsoft and Google have committed to water-positive operations by 2030, and the Sydney–Melbourne–Canberra build-out is concentrated in catchments already competing for water. The cooling-tower itself drives the day-to-day pain: scaling, biofouling, Legionella risk under AS/NZS 3666, and suspended solids that push blowdown and chemical dosing up. Purus sits in front of the tower as makeup pre-treatment, runs as sidestream filtration to lift cycles of concentration, or treats recycled and harvested water so the site can pull less from town supply.
